I don’t know about you, but I love a good “Before & After”! Lately that seems to be my MO. So here is another one I found at a garage sale. This is a “Margaux” desk and chair that was in decent condition. Basically no scratches and all drawers work perfectly.
The chair that came with Margaux was in need of a little sprucing up. Her cushion was not attached, and she had some hideous fabric too! Easy fix!
Here’s what I came up for Margaux’s Glamour Shot! See what you think!
Recovering of the chair was a pretty easy fix. I found this “burlap-like” fabric at Target in the drapery department. Fabric is super soft – NOT itchy! Very easy to work with and stretches over the cushion for a perfect fit.
Now let’s get into specifics: Margaux was sanded, stained – using a dark mahogany. Then using Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk paint I used Linen, Typewriter, and Curio. I did use Linen on the hardware, so it would stand out. I used Hemp Oil over all. And then sealed everything with a dark wax for added protection.
